One ledger across shops

Replace memory, WhatsApp screenshots, and a second notebook with one cloud ledger for stock, sales, and udhaar. Start with one counter. When a second shop opens, filter or roll up without a 10 PM call.

What this is

A multi-shop ledger is one shared set of books for every counter and godown you run. You see today’s sales, stock, and credit in one place, then filter to a single shop when you need the detail. MaterialOS ships that from day one — not as a later upgrade you buy after the second yard already hurt.

Leave the night call behind

Owners open one dashboard for sales, credit, and stock value by shop. Staff keep working at their counter. You stop reconstructing the day from phone calls and chat threads. That night call is the symptom; the disease is two notebooks pretending to be one business.

One shop first, two shops without a new system

Plenty of dealers start with a single yard. The same ledger still works when you open a second counter. Roll up the business, then drill into one shop’s stock or udhaar — not a second spreadsheet and not a second freemium login. Starter is one shop; Growth and Pro raise the shop cap when you need it.

Stock and udhaar on the same numbers

Transfers and shop-level views stay inside the same ledger as billing and collections. That is the point of leaving paper: one truth for what left the yard and what customers still owe. Cement and steel moving across yards should not require a family group chat to reconcile.

Built where two shops already hurt

MaterialOS was shaped inside a two-shop building-materials business in Kolkata. The origin story is public; we do not invent named customer testimonials. Multi-shop from day one is not a marketing badge — it is why the product exists.

How it works

  1. 1

    Add shops

Create each location in setup. Owner, manager, and accountant can see across shops; sales and inventory staff stay on their assigned shop so the counter stays simple.

  2. 2

    Bill and stock as usual

Day-to-day sales, purchases, and stock moves hit the shared ledger. No separate “branch app” and no end-of-day merge ritual.

  3. 3

    Filter or roll up

Open reports and the dashboard for the whole business, or switch to one shop when you need a tight view. Fourteen reports sit on the same numbers.

  4. 4

Hand clean numbers to your CA

Export registers from the same ledger. MaterialOS does not file GST returns — your accountant still owns filing.

Plans and limits

Starter covers 1 shop (and up to 3 staff, 300 invoices/mo). Growth covers up to 3 shops and 8 staff. Pro removes shop and staff caps. All plans include the 14 reports and multi-shop filter/rollup once you have more than one location. List prices exclude GST (+ 18% GST at checkout); annual plans are marketed as 2 months free. No permanent free plan — 30-day Pro trial only.

MaterialOS is day-to-day ops on phone and web — not a full Tally or corporate-ledger replacement. It does not file GST returns. Signup today opens for building materials first; other verticals show as coming soon.

We built MaterialOS because calling the other shop at 10 PM is not a system. Two counters need one ledger the owner can open on any phone.

Questions

Do I need two shops to use MaterialOS?

No. Start with one shop if that is how you run today. Multi-shop from day one means the same ledger is ready when you open a second counter — you do not re-platform later.

Can I see one shop without losing the full picture?

Yes. Roll up the business, then filter to one shop for stock, sales, or udhaar. Owner, manager, and accountant see across shops; counter roles stay on their assigned shop.

Which plan do I need for more than one shop?

Starter is 1 shop. Growth allows up to 3 shops. Pro is unlimited shops and staff. Pricing excludes GST (+ 18% GST at checkout); annual plans are marketed as 2 months free.

Does MaterialOS replace my accountant’s books?

No. You get GST invoices and sales/purchase registers for your CA. MaterialOS does not file returns and is not a full Tally replacement.

Try the full ledger for 30 days.

No credit card. See one-shop and multi-shop views on the same Pro trial — then pick Starter, Growth, or Pro.
